Peter Pan in Canterbury

canterbury-lIn Canterbury recently we provided rigging and power services for a production of the pantomime Peter Pan. Due to the closure and subsequent demolition of the local Marlowe Theatre, the production was moved to a temporary site within a 60m x 45m Big Top. The brief included a 34m flying track for Peter and Wendy to fly above the audience, as well as full provision of rigging for all lighting and sound systems. This was achieved utilising a 15m box of Litec QL52A truss, with a Thomas Supertruss diagonal. We also provided the massive 15m x 4m upstage screen surround, hung from a ground supported 17m truss, which will be used during the mornings of the panto run to show feature films. A 17m climbing truss was deployed downstage, which will also be used for flying characters across stage.

Power provision includes supplies to stage lighting and sound, audio-visual, foyer concessions, bar, toilets, heating, worklights, floodlights, emergency lighting and  dressing rooms. The distributed power is fed from three generators, including full production power emergency backup.

The panto runs from 5th December to 17th January, and the big top arena will also be used for individual shows by Jane McDonald, Rick Wakeman, Hayley Westenra and Snow White on Ice.
