Warehouse Expansion

During the last couple of months we have completed our expansion into another unit at Ullenwood Court. This brings our total warehouse space to over 8000 square feet, providing us with better designated storage areas, more floor preparation area for outgoing projects and a more efficient division of departments.

We have also added vast new stocks of site electrical equipment including cables, distribution units and site lighting to support several new contracts for this season.

Triumph Live 2012 at Mallory Park Racing Circuit to celebrate 110 years of Triumph Motorcycles. Peak Hire provided staging, rigging, lighting, power and sound in a full production solution for two evenings of entertainment headlined by the Kaiser Cheifs.

Wychwood Festival

The award winning Wychwood Festival is held annually at Cheltenham Racecourse. This year for the first time we provided complete sound services to all venues. Having worked previously for Affinity Events on the KCM Europe Tour in 2008, Peak Hire were delighted to provide technical support again for KCM in London, May 2012. This included all sound, lighting, rigging and power. No plants though. Main stage sound was 12 EAW KF740 line array cabs with 8 EAW SB1002 subs. Balcony outfill used three hangs of 4 EAW KF730 array. We used a total of 132m of Litec truss on 19 points with Lodestar motors. See more here.

We were delighted to handle the lighting and special effects for the annual Cheltenham Town Hall New Year’s Eve event. The venue was rammed with party goers entertained until 2am by The Chip Shop Boys and DJ Joey Coyne. The climax of the evening was accompanied by a big screen countdown and confetti cannons.

New Stock – Robe Robin 600 LED

Peak Hire have recently expanded their stock of lighting equipment, responding to customer requests and a busy upcoming autumn/winter schedule.

Our stock of LED fixtures has been supplemented by Robe ROBIN 600 LED wash moving head fixtures. These are incredibly bright and fast, yet consume only 415W a piece. In addition, each unit is only 10 kg – as opposed to 30 kg for a similar conventional moving head wash light.

We’ve also been investing in lighting, dimming and power distribution, and now have over 100 ETC Source Four lanterns and a new Avolites Powercube to add to all the rest of the generic equipment. The rigging department have been investing heavily in truss, with over 100m of Litestructures Astralite now available.

Tall Ships Festival

Gloucester Tall Ships Festival 2011

At the end of August we supplied and setup a couple of line array PA systems for the Gloucester Tall Ships Festival.

The event management team needed to be able to make public information and safety announcements throughout the site – which spans different dock areas and can attract up to 10,000 visitors during the course of the event.

To provide full coverage of the site, four hangs of line array were positioned around the site, using a combination of EAW KF730 and KF740 line array cabinets. Lab Gruppen amplification and EAW UX8800 processing supplied the necessary power and control. Rigging was a combination of our Litec D30 flying towers and Mobiltech ground support stands.
